World Malaria Day 2026
Objectives:
• Increase malaria prevention awareness
• Promote early testing and treatment
• Distribute insecticide-treated nets (ITNs)
• Strengthen community participation in malaria control
• Engage policymakers and health stakeholders
• Provide free malaria screening services including free anti-malarial medications
Event Activities:
• Morning Malaria Awareness Walk and Rally - We gather by 8:00 at UNIPORT - Abuja Park.
• Free malaria rapid diagnostic testing (RDT)
• Free Artemisinin-based Combination Therapy (ACT) treatment for positive cases
• Distribution of insecticide-treated nets
• Health education and environmental sanitation talks
• Stakeholder forum and panel discussions
Logistics & Requirements:
•Malaria RDT kits and ACT medications
• 1,000 insecticide-treated nets
• Hiring of Canopies, chairs, and generator
• Purchase of PA system
• PHSAID Branded T-shirts, banners and flyers
• Medical and volunteer teams
• Security and media coverage
Expected Outcomes:
• Early detection and treatment of malaria cases
• Improved public awareness
• Strengthened partnerships in Rivers State
• Sustainable malaria prevention initiatives
• Achievement of SDG 3 and 17
